57,000 Credit Unions serve over 217 million members in 105 countries and on six continents worldwide. Those members have received $1.2 trillion in loans from Credit Unions just like Finger Lakes FCU. This has given millions of individuals who may not have had access to good credit and opportunities a path towards building a strong financial future.

This is especially valuable for lower-income or middle class families and individuals who may not have had access to loans and credit building opportunities in the past. At Credit Unions, your credit score is just one of many factors we look at when you apply for a loan. We listen to your story, and we lend to help you grow your financial opportunities, not to make a profit.

Other services Credit Unions offer their members are financial education opportunities and high yield dividends on our savings options, including Term Share Certificates (CD’s) and Money Market savings accounts.

millennials manage their money and finances better than most baby boomers

There is a difference between offering a not-for-profit service to families and individuals just like you, and charging people excessive interest and fees just for doing their banking. That difference is the Credit Union difference, and it is a difference we all plan to celebrate on International Credit Union Day on October 20th.

FLFCU will be live-streaming the festivities on their Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages so be sure to follow us there!
